Over at vovici Jeffrey Henning has five (5) survey research resolutions for the New Year.
These resolutions are well worth a read.
His resolutions are:
1. Shorten surveys.
2. Test, test and test surveys before deployment.
3. Send out fewer reminders.
4. Share results with respondents.
5. Answer other people’s surveys.
To this I would add:
6. Avoid the so-called “death grids” in online surveys.
7. Move up to the next generation of online survey tools and move away from text heavy, single-font, yawn inspiring formats.
8. Apply the “So what?” question to every survey question? The BCG study (The Consumer’s Voice- Can Your Company Hear It?) raises this issue. (See page 14 of the report.) 73% of MR staff think our data answers the “so what?” question, but only 34% of business users (our end clients) think so.
What other survey research resolutions would you add in 2010?
